[warning] if this wasn't me, I would be horribly grossed out

I would also be sick to my stomach. Apologies. But I have to share...
Flattering, no?

Today was the day of my scar-tissue removal surgery in my lip, the effects of getting hit in the mouth with a softball about 4 years ago...

I had no idea it would look this disgusting...I also had no idea it would hurt enough to take Loritab...(don't worry about me EVER getting hooked on painkillers, those babies tear my poor stomach apart...even on a full stomach!)

He said it will probably swell more than this. Good thing I have work tomorrow at 8am!

I can't really smile or talk too well right now without making it hurt more, at least I'm just working the morning shift at the pool. It could be worse.

[before]
maybe it's not horrible, but it's definitely noticeable.
If it can be fixed, then why not?

I'm really looking forward to how it will look when the swelling goes down and I get the stitches out! I think it will all be worth it. I had no idea this surgery was even a possibility! Thank you parents!! You're the best.

It's hard to imagine it will look better than it did the way it looks now, but here's to hoping!

GOOD NEWS: I got the cold spray for the IV, which is
definitely the way to go! I hardly felt it at all!

BAD NEWS: I can't do vigorous exercise for a whole week :(
Goodbye 30 day shred, I'll pick back up when I can!
Hopefully I don't lose all the progress I've made.

sweat and tears. no, literally.

Just a quick update on my 30-day shred by Jillian Michaels plan...

After getting as used as I was going to get to level one, I decided to finally go to level two. eesh. My biggest mistake was trying to go all out and not following the modified routine at all. I literally wanted to cry at the end, which I thought would never come. I haven't done a workout that tough in a very long time!

I decided to try it again though, but I did it about halfway between the modified and full-on workout. That time there were no tears, just a few false alarms in the puking my guts out area. Now if I modify it just a little I'm fine with level 2, but level one is still welcome!

check one off the bucket list...and I must be old

Tuesday was my girl Hailey's BRIDAL SHOWER. Bahhh that's so weird. I still remember the first day of 6th grade when I met her, and she's always been one of the nicest girls I know. Let's not even mention that I'm a month older than her. HA. Her wedding is next week in the Draper temple!

I made peanut butter chocolates and brownies for the shower, and my mom really wanted to make some punch to use in her brand-new dispenser. It was a huge hit if I do say so myself, my mom really knows bridal showers I guess! Cranberry and pineapple juice with ginger ale. Yummy!

The delish punch with pineapple rings for garnish, and my treats along with Michelle's cream puffs. Notice the fancy pants white chocolate drizzle...thank you very much. :)

Cute little fruit tray!

Afterwords, we went to Spark, the Mormon excuse for a bar. I actually really like it, and I had a Shirley Temple with cotton candy on top thank you very much. 100% percent akkehol free and a very cool atmosphere. While we were there sitting up in the loft, some guys came up to talk to us and invited us to a party on Saturday. They were really funny! When the waitress went to get our checks, she came back and said "I don't know if you know this, but your guy friends already paid for your drinks..."

We were shocked! It definitely made my day. I felt like a grown-up in a bar when a guy comes up and asks "Can I buy you a drink?", or "What are you drinking?".

Maybe I've seen to many movies, and maybe that sounds stupid, but I've always thought that would be so cool! And I think that's the closest I'll get, so I'll take it!

Being the smart one that I am, I didn't even get a picture of just me with the bride-to-be, but she's on the far left.

eating her [curds] and whey

I have discovered a new butt-kicking workout that only takes 20 minutes a day! And believe me, you'll get your 20 minutes worth.

                                          51QlqI3yaOL._SL500_.jpg
Before going to Yellowstone for the past 10 days, I did three or four days of the first level just to get a feel. I started again today and will go 30 DAYS STRAIGHT WITHOUT FAIL. At least I hope I can make it that far! I haven't even seen what the 2nd or 3rd levels are like--and I'm not sure I want to. The first level is quite enough for at least the next few days!

Today I got a side ache just doing the jumping jacks for crying out loud! It may seem like easy enough exercises, but put together for 20 minutes straight (it's more like 25...) with no rest is really tiring and super tough.

I'm also combining this with a little extra protein in hopes that I can have a little muscle for once in my life.
Sorry it's backwards...that's what you get for using photobooth.

Anyways, I researched it a lot before buying. I always thought protein powder was for male bodybuilders only. But its just whey from milk, and everybody could use more protein in their life. Some testimonials I read say some people even gave it to their kids mixed in with the Nesquick!  24 grams of protein a serving and it actually tastes pretty good! I got vanilla ice cream flavor this time, and I've mixed it with either plain milk or milk and strawberries.

Wish me luck! I'll post updates of my progress...
