Moving on is hard to do...

So I'm not going to say much about the BYU/FSU game, but I will say this: has no one there ever heard of good sportsmanship? Seriously, when FSU's kickoff returners would come onto the field, they would look directly at the student section part I happened to be sitting in raising their arms and acting like they were the hottest stuff(I would love to use another word) we've ever had the privilege of laying our eyes on. Seriously Florida State? For real? And this was even WAYYY before the game ever ended.

I was also surprised at the number of FSU fans in attendance. Out of all of them, I think there were only around 3 under the age of 65.

On a different note, today as I was walking out of my stats review, my foot got caught on one of the steps. The only way to keep myself from face-planting was the sprint up the next 5 steps for all I was worth. It was the weirdest thing, and the first instinct I had to save myself. Awkward much? Yeah it was pretty bad. Good thing I don't think anyone saw...or at least no one laughed. I think that's a good sign.

Anyway, I wouldn't want to be Colorado State this Saturday. Let's go Cougars!!!

Well, three weeks of school have passed and so far I've learned/observed:

1. College weeks go by much faster than high school weeks.
2. Probably because classes are only two or three hours a day.
3. I drink a lot more milk than I thought I would. (I'm already almost done with my third gallon!)
4. I can never go to the grocery store without coming back with WAY more than I planned. I went for milk and came back with a few bags!
5. I love that there's hardly any assignments to do other than reading and an occasional paper.
6. I'm glad I took all those AP classes to at least get a taste, even if it gets a lot harder(and I'm sure it will).
7. A white girl and an asian can be pretty good rappers...well, at least it's entertaining...
8. There are a good amount of weirdies at this school.
9. Basketball starts in a month and a half!! Woot.
10. BYU football is amazing this year. And I called the OU win all along, you could say I'm psychic.

Yep, Florida State tomorrow. First home game. My seats aren't too sucky I guess(row 37), and I can't wait! Should be a great game! I love those Cougars, BYU football is where it's at. Until basketball season of course. :)

Go Cougs!!

If only...

Today in Humanities, my professor told us a story about a student's thesis to one of the papers he has graded in the past.

The thesis was this:
"I hate all Democrats. I have a gun, and I volunteer to start shooting."

Now I know that's not much of a thesis, but I just about died laughing anyway. Who says that!?!

He is my hero nevertheless.

Goodbye truck...

So I get to BYU and what's the first thing I do? Get a red Jeep of course!!

Thanks to my awesome grandparents for making it all happen!! Also my parents:)...but mostly grandparents. You guys are the best! Goodbye winters of sliding across the road and relying on complete strangers to dig me out of parking lots. Hello four-wheel drive, automatic locks, and many other great perks. (Including a gas gauge that works...something that many drivers take for granted!)

Of course I'll miss my trusty rusty...

It's all I've ever known! And I've loved that truck...but but I'm ready for some traction.

Yes, I know it's red...but nothing a few BYU stickers can't fix:D

Rise all Loyal Cougars

#20 BYU vs. #3 Oklahoma=probably the only BYU game that has made me want to break down and cry after a win.

Yeah. It was that good. I can't think of anything better for my first game as a legit Cougar.

Me and Michelle watched at Legends Grille on campus along with a packed house upstairs and down. It was intense. As sad as it may be, one of the best moments was one of the last plays of the first half when OU's Heisman winning QB Sam Bradford was plowed into the ground by Coleby Clawson. Everyone cheered when he stayed on the ground grabbing his throwing shoulder in pain. Yep, out for the second half. Not that he did anything anyway. He only had one TD pass the whole half and that was only because of BYU's mistake that gave them such great field position. So if anyone says the only reason BYU won is because he went down, they have no idea what they're talking about and didn't watch the game.

The second half was crazy, and Max Hall showed everyone what he was made of when he lead the Cougars all the way down the field, taking over 8 minutes off the clock, all leading to an amazing TD pass to wide-open McKay Jacobsen in the endzone. The whole room went psychotic...it was amazing.

OU attempted a field goal that fell short in the final minutes, sealing the victory for BYU, 14-13.

I can't even express how happy I was with BYU's defense in this game, from pressuring the QB mercilessly to goal-line stands. Wow.

Here's the video of the crowd singing the fight song after Hall's final TD pass:

Around 2 AM, about 2,000 Cougar fans (myself included of course) welcomed the team home at the Provo airport. Unfortunately I forgot my camera, but I'm sooo happy I went. It was even worth it sprinting a mile from our parking spot to where the plane would land.

That day was incredible and I won't be over it for a very long time, if ever:)

Old Town New

Well my first couple days at BYU are done with and I still don't know if it's hit me. Going to classes almost still seems like EFY, taking your little notes and doing things with people you've never met before. I've gone to all of my classes except for communications (which is only on Thursdays...for two and a half hours...yeah). Not too bad so far, but I've only gone once:)

I moved in last Wednesday, and here is my half of the room:

I've done a little more decoration-wise but you get the idea. Sharing a bathroom with six girls isn't as bad as I thought thus far, and all my roommates are awesome.

It's weird going to church "at school" and to meet in a classroom-type setting, but my ward seems pretty cool.

On another note...BYU vs. OU is less than four days away! I can't believe it! I know it will be a great game no matter what, but i obviously have a ton of faith in my Cougars!!

Me with O'neill Chambers and Brandon Bradley at the Cougar kickoff a couple of weeks ago:
