Well, now it's official. We have the trophy to prove it. MWC Champions 2007-08!!! How cool is it that for the last two years, not only has BYU won the conference title outright, but both times the trophy was presented at the last game in front of all the fans. That just proves how important the New Mexico game last week was! And it was senior day! The three seniors, Sam Burgess, Ben Murdock, and Vuk Ivanovic were honored before the game. The song they played during the video tribute made me so sad though! What did they do that for? I will miss Sam most of all, he's such a big part of the team on and off the court. And Ben surprised everyone, having an excellent season as the starting point guard. Vuk has been injured so hasn't really been a factor this year.

The game went as just about everybody expected, with a huge win and an undefeated home season. Another big thing that happened was Jonathan Tavernari's record-breaking night. His four three-pointers put him at 76 treys for the season, 2 more than Andy Toolson's old record. Oh and one more thing. Tavernari is only a sophomore!

After the game, the trophy was presented by President Samuelson and Tom Holmoe, BYU's athletic director. Burgess held it high while walking to the student section, reflecting everything this team has been working for all season. Everything, that is, except for a MWC tournament championship and a run in the NCAA tourney. Speaking of which.....

Here are some of my post-season predictions.....
1. In the first round of the conference tourney in Vegas, BYU plays Wyoming and wins by about 20.
2. In the second round, BYU plays San Diego State, and will pull away to win a tight one by 10.
3. In the Championship the Cougars play UNLV on their home court, but will come out fired up and win it all!
4. For the NCAA tourney, the Cougars will get a 6th seed and we'll see from there.....

I know they can have a good run in the Big Dance if they play like we've been seeing.

One more regular-season game at TCU tomorrow and then......VIVA LAS VEGAS!!

Go Cougars!!
