I love the period of time when the BYU football and basketball seasons overlap--my two favorite things at the same time! Let's start with basketball.
After seven and a half long-awaited months of getting my only glimpses of the team watching through windows or doorways...I finally got to see them up close in the first event of the season, the Cougar Tipoff! Everytime I though of going earlier today I couldn't stop smiling! I just couldn't help myself! It's been way too long. It started at 7 and we got there around 6 to make sure we got awesome seats. How does first row front and center sound? ;)
The actual scrimmage of blue and white was awesome, I was rooting for the blue secretly; they were down by a lot at the beginning but fought hard back and only lost by a little. It was so great seeing the new players and redshirters play in an actual game setting for the first time. Everytime Charles scored, Michelle screamed her head off and everyone around us was staring and laughing at us. That only happens about every time we go to a game. We're used to it.
After the game, we got autographs of everyone on the team, and I finally got a picture with Matt and Jackson! I'm so excited about that. It was such an awesome day and I can't wait to go to every single game and sit in the front row! :)
Now for football. After the heart-breaking TCU loss, I was expecting a hammering of UNLV. I didn't expect a nail-biter, last second secured victory! I mean a win is a win, but I don't like close games at all! I hope the defense will play like they did against UCLA in the remaining games. If that can happen, winning out is no problem.
Next week against SDSU is the game I get to sit with Greg Wrubell, and I can't wait! I'm also pretty nervous, but this is the most amazing opportunity and I'm so glad I have it!
